The process of refinishing a heavily worn or damaged hardwood floor starts with repairs and resurfacing. Once the repairs and resurfacing are completed, the finishing process is coating the floor with stain and/or a protective semi-gloss or high gloss finish that will last for many years of the toughest use.
Sometimes however a floor may have a decent finish but it just needs freshening up. In this case resurfacing isn’t necessary. We have a machine just for this purpose. It uses a slightly abrasive surface to refinish the protective coating to allow for either another layer of protective coating to be applied over top or to allow for buffing and polishing.
